Women of this society
I think about women in our society a lot. Even more when they make headlines. Not for their achievements and attainments but because of their doom. How they were violated, murdered and then blamed for the brutality against them. I am saddened because half of our society feels unsafe in their own country, this same half gives birth to the other half and this same half builds the society yet for some reason we think they deserve less than the other gender. Violence isn't just rape, murder, harassment and getting beaten up, it starts from something at a much smaller level. It is something that happens around you every day, in your house, your workplace, and your school but we turn a blind eye because it has become so common that it's normal. Behaviours like asking your daughter to stay indoors, not controlling your anger and lashing out at your wife whether it be physically or emotionally, staring at women in the streets, making lewd jokes and many other little things lead to bigger violent acts.

We need to call them out regardless of where they're coming from. Call them out even when it's your family member, your close friend, your teacher, or your boss!! it doesn't matter just stand up for yourself and every other woman. It's time our country accepts that the religion which they like to use in every argument, HIGHLY condemns all violence against women yet we find it so easy to call ourselves practising Muslims while a woman in our own house is oppressed.
