Death
Death, for everyone in this world, irrespective of religion, cast and creed is defined as the discontinuation of life, except for the one who believes and sees the world with a Qur'anic lense- he knows death is not the end rather it the beginning of the next stage of the human soul. This is not my concept, it is a Qur'anic concept and the Qur'an is al-Haq (the Truth) -it never lies.
Everyone, whether believer or not, acknowledges the temporary nature of this world and the inevitability of death, but not all have the certainty that they will one day meet their Lord and be accountable for everything they did in this short life. For most, the motto in life is to "live this life to the fullest because tomorrow never comes" but for a Muslim who has yaqeen, there are boundaries he cannot afford to cross. After all, he knows this life is not it.
We believe life is a test. Just like after every test you are told whether you passed or failed you passed, where you rank among your peers and if you failed, how badly did you fall short, we will be told about our test scores of this life on judgement day. That result day will be the hardest and longest day of our existence, half a day equalling 50,000 years of this Duniya, and everything no matter how minute or magnified, good or bad, will play in front of us like our life's movie reel.
And they will be presented before your Lord in rows, [and He will say],
"You have certainly come to Us just as We created you the first time. But you claimed that We would never make for you an appointment." 18:48
And the record [of deeds] will be placed [open], and you will see the criminals fearful of that within it, and they will say, "Oh, woe to us! What is this book that leaves nothing small or great except that it has enumerated it?"
And they will find what they did present [before them]. And your Lord does injustice to no one. 18:49
Imagine a report card emerging in every single whisper to the girl in front, every look at the guy's test sheet on the right, every scribble at the back of the calculator cover, every glance at the book in the toilet- everything that you thought the invigilator missed everything that you thought the invigilator missed during the exam and you became successful as a result, never escaped Allah, even nearly. You will find it all in front of you in the report card that will leave out nothing unrecorded. There will be no hiding that day. Most will wish that day to never have been born, to never have to stand in front of Allah, to get another chance at Duniya one more time - but no, that will never happen. They will wish that their worldly death was the end of them, but we never were created to live once were we?
Their chances at redemption which were always present as long as there was breath in their bodies, would have run out. There shall be no going back. And that brings us back to the fundamental question, why did Allah create death and life?
[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed -".69:02
Allah does not expect perfection from us but he expects improvement. This verse right here, and the fact that we have been commanded by our beloved prophet Muhammad (SAW) to recite surah Mulk every single night, shows that the Qur'an, the divine speech of Allah, reminds us every single night please don't forget your purpose. Please don't get too lost in this world. Please don't be too upset over what you have or don't have because ultimately your deeds count and nothing else, definitely not your matric score or mdcat score or prof score or the labels on the dresses in your closet, the money in your account, your wrinkle-free skin, or your skin tone, or how successful your marriage is or how popular and smart you are. The list is endless and equally meaningless yet it steals away from the limited time we have on this earth to spend collecting the akhirah.
And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion. (3:185)
Do you really think we have time to repent to make up for our mistakes do you really think every dying person wishes to do so at the old age of his life free from the successful world and going back to Allah do you really think that all that Allah wants he created us he said come to me I will give you success but rather going towards him we live in the luxuries of life and competing for each other for being successful
Not now than when... |
Do you really think we will live that much no wonder accidents are going side by side people die without having an illness then might be we (I) can become one of them
Then why not return to Allah now .....
